Monica Barrios California Department of Technology
Monica Barrios is a professional with over 18 years of combined experience in the private and public sector. She has utilized a number of skills in her career to implement high profile information technology projects. Monica worked on the Kauwale On-Line Eligibility Assistance
System (KOLEA) Project with the Department of Human Services in Hawaii. This was one of the first Medicaid integration projects in the nation following the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
Monica also ran her own multi-service business where she helped clients in all sectors promote their IT solutions through a series of events and also helped them use the latest technologies to improve their business processes. Monica is also a certified ScrumMaster.
Monica is currently an IT Specialist for the California Department of Technology, where she works in Statewide Technology Procurement. She serves as a critical partner in project oversight to state departments. Monica has experience working with the Project Approval
Lifecycle (PAL) in assisting departments move through the PAL.
Monica graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and is fluent in Spanish. Monica loves traveling with her husband and two daughters. Monica is the Event Lead of the Latinas in Tech Sacramento Valley Chapter.
