Linda Ruiz David Programs
My name is Linda and I was born in Mexico City. My dad is from Veracruz and my Mom is a Mexican-American who has lived most of her life in Mexico. My family moved to Los Angeles, CA when I was very young and I was fortunate enough to grow up in a loving, supportive and bicultural environment. We moved back to Mexico in '94 after my dad's business (a gas station) was vandalized and destroyed during the Rodney King riots.
For the next 18 years, I would live in Mexico City surrounded by family and friends. I studied Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Iberoamericana and worked at IBM for a few years until I made the decision to move back to California. I moved to San Diego in 2010 and have found a passion for people in the work that I do as a Recruiter.
I feel incredibly lucky to now live and work in San Francisco where opportunities seem endless and people have a global way of thinking. Despite recent events in the U.S., I feel more proud than ever to represent my culture and background and always encourage other latin@s I meet to speak their language and truth. We must break this socialization cycle of being invisible and not showing up for each other.
I am honored to be supporting and working with Latinas in Tech to build programs that will empower latinas to develop their careers, find their dream jobs and be each other's biggest fans.
