GoHealth is looking for a Director of Advanced Analytics to join as a leader of the Business Analytics function. This role will report to the Vice President, Advanced Analytics. You will be responsible for guiding the work of the cross-functional data analytics team, help create and lead strategy, and oversee the team’s execution. You will effectively manage a team, derive analytical insights from a variety of business contexts, and communicate those insights effectively to a variety of other stakeholders.

 Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of data analysts, visualization specialists, data engineers and data scientists to work with leaders to understand key value drivers and challenges within their business units and determine the key metrics and insights that can help improve performance as a result
  • Collaborate cross functionally to manage project goals and expectations as the data analytics team delivers on its initiatives
  • Oversee the analysis of customer retention and the identification of drivers of attrition and churn. Drive continuing analysis that will lead to improvements in retention
  • Lead the team in delivering on ad-hoc data requests from business stakeholders while building reports and dashboards to help reduce the need for these requests
  • Stay current with leading edge systems, methods, and best practices for data science and analytics; successfully introduce technology and process changes across the organization
  • Continually identify new data-based insights that can help support GoHealth’s processes and improve customer decision-making processes
  • Continue building best practices for organization-wide data usage and analysis
  • Compile data from a variety of sources including Excel, SQL Server and MySQL
  • Mentor, guide, and develop Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists on the team

Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience using descriptive and diagnostic analytics to help guide strategic decision-making in a business context
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing a team of data analysts and visualization specialists
  • BA in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Computer Science or related quantitative field, MA or PhD Preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and effectively lead a team while effectively prioritizing and allocating their time and resources
  • Proven ability to identify drivers of customer retention using statistical and model-based approaches
  • Proficient in use of Python for manipulating data and drawing insights from data sets
  • Knowledge of build systems, version control systems using Git, Bitbucket, SVN, or Team Foundation
  • Proven ability to take insights and turn them into actionable steps that can drive business value
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing to colleagues with varying degrees of analytical knowledge and understanding
